Meet Dave DeShon
Project Director

Meet Dave DeShon, Project Director for the Akron Office. Dave has been with Mature Services, Inc. since 2011. He enjoys the opportunity to work with our trainees and help them clarify their employment goals, identify training needs, and then find the type of employment they are seeking. The Akron Project has a variety of job-ready trained workers in Summit and Wayne Counties. Dave and his staff will work with you to find you the best fit. Welcome Sue Dukeman, our Training Specialist

Sue Dukeman has more than twenty five years experience in the private, public and academic arenas of workforce development. Prior to joining the staff at Mature Services, she was the Regional Workforce Director for the Ohio Department of Development serving the Northeast Ohio region.

Sue holds a Bachelors degree in Organizational Management from Calumet College in Indiana and a Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Akron.

Akron office expands to include Wayne County SCSEP.

The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) formerly housed in Wooster
is now served through the Akron office by Dave DeShon, the new Project Director for
these territories.

A program aide will also be on hand to meet with Wayne county residents at the Employment and Training Connection in Wooster. Thanks to our partnership with them, SCSEP participants are welcome to take advantage of their resources.

Dave can be contacted by calling our Wooster office at: 330-264-5060 x5801. Our program aide, Linda Arnold, is in the office Monday through Friday 12pm-4:30pm.

Congratulations to Vincent C. on his new Job!

Vincent previously attended our Job Club and decided to drop in and tell us the good news. He started working full time at Clean Harbors in Tallmadge on May 31, and has already received a $1.50/hour raise.

When asked about his favorite parts of Job Club, he told us the interviewing practice, resume development, and learning how to research companies and make cold calls were most helpful in attaining employment.

As it turns out, he found his current employer by simply stopping in. Congratulations and good luck!
