The Nutrition Program Congregate program is a very successful collaboration between Mature Services and the Akron
Metropolitan Housing Authority (AMHA) making it possible for nutritious, low-cost lunches to be prepared and served at congregate sites in Summit County.
In 2009/2010, the Nutrition Program prepared and provided 48,733 nutritious meals to 424 older
adults and
adults with disabilities. We also provided 28,185 home-delivered meals and distributed
1,127 emergency food orders. Meals are provided regardless of the recipient's ability to pay.
