We all have expectations and, when changes in the economy lead to those expectations not being met, it can be very disturbing. The key is to avoid that frantic feeling and instead focus on how to approach the issue from a new direction. Right now, many employers are wondering how to encourage business growth without incurring higher expenses.  If that seems like an impossible task, consider developing a working partnership with the Senior Employment Center.

Our organization listens closely to our company partners concerns so we can assist them in determining future employment needs and compiling a plan for meeting them in a timely and economical fashion.

Mature workers are rated very high in productivity, low in absenteeism and strong on job loyalty and commitment. Our candidates are ready to join your company and willing to spend the time it takes to learn your job-specific skills. In return, we are willing to cover all the payroll costs—wages and taxes—for up to 12 weeks  of training through our Employer- Based Training program. It is our way of thanking you for recognizing the value of mature workers and giving them an opportunity to demonstrate the positive benefits of hiring them.  We have offices throughout the state, so just find your county on our locations map  and contact your local representative for more information on how to become one of our corporate partners. We look forward to working with you!

Opportunity Knocks—Akron (Ohio)

Serving Summit County

The Senior Employment Center’s Second Annual Business-to-Business Speed Networking Event was held on March 25, 2010.  This event was attended by 40 people representing local businesses who took advantage of this opportunity to exchange ideas, share information about services offered, and get better acquainted with local partnership opportunities.  The group included representatives from H&R Block, Thomas Limousine, Larock Homecare, and Akron Children’s Hospital to name just a few.

Events like this help local companies get new ideas about strategic thinking in outreach and sales, and serve as a way to let people know who you are and what you have to offer.  The next Business-2-Business Speed Networking event will be held in October 2010.  For further information on date and time, call 330-762-8666, Ext. 174 or 178, or check our website.
