Just when you feel sure you can see the future, it seems like things shift. As gravity affects the sands in an hourglass, outside forces can play havoc with your business plans and you must be ready to react quickly or miss an opportunity. One sure way to be prepared for shifts in your staffing needs may be to contact the Senior Employment Center. One of the hidden costs of doing business is employee training and turnover, and this is where we can really help your bottom line. When business is just picking up, you need to know that the people you hire have a good work ethic and will be there when you need them. Through our Employer Based Training program you can select from a qualified and tested pool of candidates, and we will underwrite all your payroll costs during the initial training phase of their employment. Not only that, but we are always willing to work with you on the training plan, and assist you in determining the length of time needed to acclimate your new employee to the demands of the job. Our goal is to provide opportunities for skilled older workers to stay in the workforce while strengthening your company’s competitive position in the marketplace. Why not call us today and learn about this, and other opportunities to partner with us? |

Opportunities can arise at any time and place. Therefore, one should be prepared for those opportunities. Area employers can take advantage of finding their next experienced & qualified employee by attending the Youngstown Senior Employment Center’s Job Club Alumni Meetings, which are held every other Friday between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the conference room. Job Club Alumni Members have already completed a three week job training course which allows them to better market themselves in today’s workforce. These members are job ready and excited about entering or re-entering the workforce. You can participate in these meetings by being a guest speaker, human resource recruiter (by accepting resumes and applications) or just an observer.
Through our orientations, which are held every Wednesday at 1:30 pm, we are able to maintain a constant flow of new people. From there, they can either enroll in our Job Club or, if they are job-ready, be matched up with a position available with an employer. To preview a list of our Job Ready Candidates visit our website at www.matureservices.org, under the Youngstown location.
On a special note, we will be at the YMCA Kiwanis Club of Youngstown on September 10th to inform the community about our programs and services. If you cannot make it, you can get information about participating in our Alumni meetings and our other services by contacting Julie Sheely – Project Director at 330-782-0978 and don’t forget to ask about our (EBT) Employer Based Training Program. |
