We know that many companies have been through a difficult time, but it important to be ready when new opportunities come along. Senior Employment Center representatives recognize the delicate balance you must master to maintain the proper level of service to your clients and customers, while keeping an eye on the bottom line. Our goal is to make it possible for you to add the staff you will need in the near future without placing undue burden on your business now. We can offer you pre-screened candidates who have recently completed hands-on training with local non-profit and governmental agencies. They are ready to take on new challenges, and we are prepared to cover 100% of the payroll costs while you give them the more customized training called for to suit your position. Employer Based Training is the perfect way to keep costs in line while training new staff. |

The Youngstown office is proud to announce their expansion and invite people to stop by and visit their new suite of offices at 5500 Market Street, Suite 110. “The Job Club program we offer is growing, and with the recent changes in the economy, increasing numbers of mature workers are seeking assistance for training and job search.” said Julie Sheely, Project Director for the Mahoning and Portage county office of the Senior Employment Center. “This larger space will enable us to offer on-site interview space for employers, as well as expand our other services to older workers.” she added. The Senior Employment Center provides paid work experience at non-profit and governmental agencies to low-income individuals age 55 plus. Participating agencies benefit from the supplemental work force, while the trainees gain practical experience and training to enhance their marketability for private sector, unsubsidized employment. Formal training classes in areas such as Microsoft Office are also offered, along with the Job Club video conferencing series. “One of our primary goals is to make more people aware of our services,” said Sheely, “and we have added an AmeriCorps VISTA member, LaTasha Johnson, as our Outreach Coordinator. She is currently working on our Martin Luther King, Jr. Service Day project and we are pleased to have the Home Depot stores of Austintown and Boardman, Ohio and Wal-Mart of Austintown, Ohio as well as WFMJ Channel 21 of Youngstown, Ohio as partners in this endeavor.
