Despite confusing signs, it does seem that things are looking up.  It may be a little too soon to abandon all the economies that were necessary to get through the tough times, but it is the perfect time to take stock of where you are and consider your next move. If one of your economies involved staff cuts, and now you find yourself unsure whether it is time to staff back up, we may be able to help you.

The Senior Employment Center works  exclusively with mature workers, many of whom are interested in part time employment. Local businesses can take advantage of a series of small-scale job fairs that are free to employers, where you meet with a selection of our pre-screened candidates and talk about current or future positions within your company. Or you could attend one of our Business Advisory Board meetings and exchange ideas with other professionals facing the same challenges. Our employment professionals are available to help you determine how we can best serve your business needs, and there are no fees involved.  We even offer a program that fully covers an employee’s payroll costs while they are learning on the job at your company.

The mature workers we serve make capable and responsible employees. In addition to their past experience, many have taken classes to update old skills and master new ones.  Visit our website to learn more about the opportunities we offer employers.

Is the turnaround here?

50 + workforce is growing

The U.S. Bureau of  Labor reports  that in 2000 older workers averaged 13% but  estimated in 2015 it would rise to 20%.

The Administration on Aging reports retirement patterns are changing  among  78 million baby boomers  and this trend is expected  to result in an unprecedented number of 50+ workers  participating in the workforce of the twenty first century.

AARP Board Chairman, Charles Leven says “ Employing older workers can unlock the purchasing and creative power of eager consumers and trainable employees.” Older workers are recognized and valued for having a good work ethic  and  for providing experience, knowledge, and job stability in the workplace. They are viewed as loyal workers who can be counted on in a crisis. All these attributes make them desirable workers in our service-oriented economies.

We have older workers trained and ready to meet your employment needs.
