About our diverse programs:

D. Bruce Mansfield Center is committed to eliminating barriers to recovery for middle-age and older adults who have problems with alcohol or other drugs. The Center strives to provide specialized, high-quality abstinence-based professional treatment that encourages, empowers, and supports adults with this treatable disease. In addition, classes to increase awareness of general health and wellness issues, such as smoking cessation or diabetes, are sometimes offered in conjunction with our local partners.

Homecare & Supportive Services provide support to older adults and adults with disabilities to assist them in remaining independent in their own homes. Our homecare staff members visit client's homes according to a plan initiated by a nurse or social worker to perform tasks that the individual is unable to do, such as routine housekeeping, personal care, trash removal, and more. The division also assists older adults in identifying benefits and programs for which they may qualify. Home visits may be made and assistance provided with applying for utility programs, health benefits, food stamps, home repair programs, and various other services.

Additional services include: Stay@Homecare and Cleaners to the Rescue. These are available to all individuals on a fee paid basis.

Mature Staffing Systems was developed to place mature workers in temporary, temp- to-hire, long-term and direct placements. Many companies also need assistance in developing stepdown retirement programs to not only retain their mature workers, but keep their skills and institutional knowledge that is critical to maintaining a competitive edge in today’s business environment.

Mature Staffing Systems is ready to assist them, as well as answering the need for experienced workers who can act as mentors to younger employees, demonstrating the commitment and strong work ethic that is such an integral part of the older worker's philosophy.

Nutrition Program prepares and serves nutritious meals to seniors and adults with disabilities in the Summit County area. Meals are delivered to congregate sites throughout the Summit County area. The emergency food pantry delivers a free three-day supply of groceries to those in need. Hot or frozen meals are served to homebound Passport clients. Private pay meals also may be purchased at a reasonable cost. A Farmer's Market program, funded in part by the USDA, provides vouchers to people ages 60+ to purchase fresh fruit and vegetables from local farmers during the summer.

The Nutrition Program now offers a catering service for events, with funds raised going toward enhancing other aspects of the program.

Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides volunteers who are "Getting Things Done" in Summit and Medina County. Created and funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) since 1971, Mature Services' RSVP project continues to implement national initiatives to meet important community needs. RSVP partners with a variety of organizations in order to recruit, place, and recognize volunteers for their community service.

Workforce Development works to train, inspire and empower mature job seekers whose many talents may otherwise be lost to the marketplace. An individual living in any of the several counties served need only make a phone call or visit one of our locations to discover that many employment opportunities are available. Thanks to the active partnerships maintained with employers and community-based agencies, we can provide a variety of work experience, training, and employment opportunities.
