Position: IT Desktop Support Specialist

 

Under the supervision of the Director of IT, this position provides technical support to end users, and troubleshoots hardware and software related issues. The Desktop Support Specialist manages the company ticketing system to resolve technical issues in a timely manner, and provides tech support by phone, in person, and/or by traveling to remote offices.

Responsibilities include: managing user accounts and permissions; managing company data backups and performing daily security log checks; setting up, imaging and deploying new equipment; maintaining hardware/software inventory and companywide printer supplies; and performing regular preventive maintenance on computers and servers to ensure smooth business operations. This position also assists with IT orientation/training of personnel and documentation of operational procedures.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:An Associate’s Degree in an IT-related field is required; at least 1 year of experience in the IT field preferred. Must have proficient knowledge in the general use of all Microsoft products, general networking, IP schemes, and communications, and ability to troubleshoot and repair computer hardware, software and peripherals. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, and be able to multitask and prioritize issues based on severity and impact.

 

Location: Akron, OH

Wage: $15.97 – 24.11 hourly Status: Non-Exempt

Hours: Full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week
