Homemakers do light housecleaning and laundry, grocery shopping and meal preparation. They visit clients to do the needed tasks as assigned.

Home Health Aides do personal care, such as bathing and grooming clients. Home Health Aides must have pre-service training and pass a certification exam. They are required to have eight hours of in-service training a year.

*Last year Homemakers and Home Health Aides served 195 clients with 26,975 hours of in-home care.

These services are funded by the Area Agency on Aging (PASSPORT, Care Co-ordination), the City of Akron (Community Development), Private Foundations, SC Executive Office, and the United Way.

Chore service provides heavy housecleaning, such as window and wall washing, carpet shampooing, and extensive kitchen and bathroom cleaning. Clients are usually served once per year.
