Meet Tammy
Tammy Bigler

Since starting with Mature Services, Inc. in 2010, Tammy has been able to assist participants in setting and reaching their employment goals by getting to know them and their unique situations. Along with the knowledge and skills that come with being a mature worker, each individual also has distinct hurdles they need to overcome to reach their goals. By focusing on the strength and working through the challenges, Tammy helps each person reach new levels of success. This focus has resulted in a number of work ready individuals in the five county area.

Don Miller - SCSEP participant gives back

Larry JohnsonDon Miller, a SCSEP participant in Stark, got involved in his community in an unusual way: by dressing up as the Cat in the Hat! Miller, whose host agency is the United Way, dressed up as the beloved Dr. Suess character during a reading of the childrens' classic at Market Square on June 19th.

Don Miller is an excellent example of how SCSEP participants can make a difference in their communities.

Larry Johnson - Local agency and SCSEP worker shines

Larry JohnsonWe were happy to see Stock Pile receive recognition for all the great salvage work they do to recycle and repurpose materials that would otherwise end up in a landfill.

Larry Johnson is a perfect example of how both older workers and their host sites can benefit from the Senior Community Service Employment Program. Larry’s assignment to Stock Pile means they get a good worker, and Larry benefits from an assignment where he can gain work experience for his resume while being paid.

Success is possible
EvangelaEvangela G. was recently hired by the Social Security Administration as a Personal Assistant. She is very grateful for all the training and support received from the Canton office. From placement at a good host agency to the training received in job clubs, Evangela developed both the physical skills and the mental confidence needed to secure this position. I can’t tell you how much the training and support has meant to me” says Evangela. “I will be forever grateful to Tammy and Stan for helping me get back into the workforce.”
DanDan G. came to his first Job Club and was not very confident in his ability to find employment. But after learning how to apply for jobs online, customize a resume and conduct himself in a job interview, Dan was able to find a job at Lowe's. As with many employers today, Lowes’ application process is 100% online. With his newly acquired skills, Dan was able to successfully navigate through the system. He says “I had all the confidence I needed to apply, interview and secure this position” - the Job Club training was really helpful to me.”
